Graham Sowerby works as a composer, producer and performer of electronic and acoustic music within live performances but also theatre and film. He has been working within various roles within the music and creative industries over the past twenty years, including; as a performer touring stages around the UK and Europe / a composer that has been commissioned to write and create music for dance pieces, short films, live theatre performances and installations / a producer of projects ranging from music albums, festival stages and multi-discipline performances and pieces.
Resume - highlights from recent work:
“Party Skills for the End of the World” - composed and performed the live music elements within the interactive theatre piece that premiered at the Manchester International Festival (MIF) in 2018, commissioned to perform during a month long run of the world premiere at the renowned festival
“Margate Dreamland” - commissioned to collaborate with the Arts Council England (ACE) funded artists Nigel Barrett & Louise Mari, composed the and performed the live accompaniment to the theatre piece
“The Sleeper Awakes” - awarded ACE funding to creatively produce the live performance, audio-visual adaptation of the HG Wells novel of the same name, the R&D performance was supported by and performed at The Dome (Brighton) and Shoreditch Townhall (London); the show will tour the UK in Autumn 2018
“Patterns / Harmonics” - AK/DK’s most recent album. The duo create improvised layers of fuzzed-up synths, delays and thunderous double drums. Their new album ‘Patterns/Harmonics’ was lauded by BBC 6 Music and received an Album of the Day accolade after heavy rotation from the station.
“The Singing Bridge” - commissioned by the artist Claudia Molitor to compose music for her interactive installation that featured as part of the ACE funded Totally Thames festival, this commision particularly focused on the work within electronica and sound design that Graham has developed
